What's wrong with 1959?

When I close my eyes I see hardwood floors and vintage charm. When I open them, I see wall-to-wall carpet, marble tile and brass fixtures. The house we live in was built in 1999 and is perfectly adequate, but whenever I can I try to bring in the past. Even if it takes a couple of cheap bath mats from Wal-Mart. And yes, they are powder pink. They remind me of '50s — I WAS FORCED TO BUY THEM. The rugs don't particularly go with the tan-on-brown bathroom color scheme, but I don't care. They make me happy.

At least they don't have flowers on them ...

I don't like pink but I don't think it looks bad. And it does give it a vintage-y charm.
