On hiatus

I haven't been up for blogging lately. Obviously. I finally had my surgery. Thank God. Oh, do I have a gruesome photograph to share! Stretch marks and all. And my babies are growing up before my eyes. They need to slow down. The pictures above are merely two stolen moments from the last week. They already look different. For one, I cut August's overgrown bangs today. Poor man was getting a neck crick from having to look up so he could see. Bad mom. What's more, Liam has added new words to his vocabulary like "actually" and "heck." Bad mom.

A robot and a greaser

We made Liam's costume out of an old vacuum box and tin foil. We then decorated it with markers, pipe cleaners and old bolts. David rigged up a hat with an antenna. The kid was so excited to have this costume that he's been putting it on every day since. August's costume was basically some slicked back hair and temporary tattoos, which he tried to eat off.

(Before trick-or-treating we headed to a harvest festival where Liam strutted around to "oohs and ahhs." Most people thought he was the Tin Man, to which he corrected them in his most hilarious, but serious robot voice. He was so happy.)

Liam decorated this baby pumpkin.

And I decorated August's pumpkin. I wonder who I modeled it after?

It was an exhausting day, but worth it.
